This just in- the Internet saves consumers money
Internet Innovation Alliance released some data showing that use of broadband internet can save consumers up to $8000 a year.
We understand that the Alliance want to promote the implementation of broadband networking across the infrastructurally backwards US, but truth be told, consumers are allready enjoying these benefits.
Sure, broadband would be great, but let’s cut to the key point – the Internet is a great enabler.
Entertainment, Food, Automotive, Housing and Drugs – that is quite a list of consumer interests affected by lower prices on the Internet!
Consumers doing their research online are smarter and more sofisticated, simply because they have more data available to them and they are empowered to use this data. This is a challenge to old-school corporate mentality.
But think about it this way – the enabled consumer is also the ready-to-shop consumer. Once they see you have the best product, they will make a decision to buy quickly. The challenge is to help them do so!
